Poetic Language in the Contemporary Poetic Text

(A samples of the poems of Nazik Al-Malaika and Abdul-Razzaq Al-Rubaie)

Abstract

This article discussed the poetic language, its idiomatic concept, its artistic characteristics, and its importance within literary texts. On the other hand, it dealt with the difference between poetic language and the ordinary, daily language used as a means of understanding and communication between the members of human society. in his poetic experiments. It is an interpreter of his perceptions and feelings, as well as an expressive image of his intellectual, psychological and social preoccupations and concerns. The poet always chooses and selects between words in pursuit of what can serve his purpose, and presents an approximate picture of what is going on in his mind and its depths, then between the most important linguistic phenomena used in modern Arabic poetry and taking selected samples from the poetry of Iraqi poets: (Abdul Razzaq Al-Rubaie and Nazik Al-Malaika).
