Effects of Urban Expansion on the Outskirts of Third World Cities

Abstract

Urban life in the Moroccan city, like other third world cities, has become complex under the influence of a group of problems that affect the shape and dynamism of cities, and therefore the creation of urban centers on the outskirts of cities has become an urgent necessity for a social balance based on creating a harmony between the current needs of the inhabitants without affecting future needs For future generations. On the other hand, and through this research, we worked to shed light on the role that local authorities play in drawing a roadmap based on rational and coherent decisions aimed at building a well-defined fabric that takes into account the suburb as an integral part of the sustainable development plan that cities are undertaking, especially in The inability of the mother city to embrace its inhabitants and meet their housing needs. For an accurate field study, the suburb of Casablanca in the southwestern part of the Kingdom of Morocco was chosen as a model to find out the most important features and developments that this type of city undergoes, whose primary role is limited to accompanying the development of neighboring cities.
