The Role of Iraqi Law in Consumer Protection

Abstract

The study had been conducted to highlight on the Iraqi low of consumer protection with the motivations and causes of this law .

Moreover it shows the characteristics of this law .The Iraqi law of consumer protection no.1 for the year 2010 played an important role in protection of the consumer specially that of the contract of non-customary . The scientific and technological evolution had an apparent effect that had been reflected directly on all of the economic and social aspect leading to what is known as a contract due to the scientific evolution of all the mentioned aspects leading to protect the weak and of the low experience in all fields .

The research had been focused on the study of the civil aspect to ascertain on protection of the consumer in the Iraqi law that had been studied in two aspects .The first aspect of the research was assigned to investigate the protection of the consumer in the Iraqi law in comparison with the other laws referring to the most important aims and rights concerning the practicing of the non-customary . Meanwhile the second aspect of the research was focused on the responsibility of the supplier and declares with the most concerned aspect as well as their duties .

It was concluded that there were some results and proposals that must be attention by the Iraqi legislators in order to protect the consumer with his rights away from other exploiters .
