Educational Problems Facing Teachers with Hearing Disabilities

(A field study in physical disability institutes)

Abstract

The research aims to identify the problems facing hearing-impaired teachers and how to find successful solutions to eliminate these problems, which have become a concern for educational staff and those concerned with people with hearing disabilities, as hearing is considered one of the most important senses that the individual relies on to communicate with others, and through hearing the individual can  Coexistence with others and the surrounding environment. The research dealt with several chapters divided into sections and axes, where it touched on the elements and components of the study and the scientific concepts of the research, which are (the problem, the importance, and the goal). The other sections reviewed the genetic and non-genetic causes, types of hearing disability, and methods of teaching the deaf. As for the field aspect of the research  The research sample consisted of (50) male and female teachers distributed among several institutes on both sides of (Al-Karkh and Al-Rusafa), namely (Al-Amal, Al-Izdihar, Al-Shorouk, and Al-Khamayel). The social survey approach was used. Finally, the study reached a set of results, including from the data of our field study, the respondents answered that their years of service in professional work amounted to (29), and the duration of professional work amounted to more than 10 years).

The most important recommendations reached by the study are Increasing the number of specialized educational cadres in order to improve the educational process through their participation in training courses specializing in each type of disability to develop their scientific and technical skills in using the latest educational methods and staying away from Traditional methods based on memorization and memorization.
