Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of digital media literacy on users' behaviors in protecting their personal data, in light of the major transformations in the digital environment and the increased reliance on digital media. The study was applied to a sample of 151 individuals, where the descriptive analytical methodology was used that relied on questionnaires to collect data. The results showed that there is a significant impact of digital media literacy on users' behaviors in protecting their personal data, as digital media education and awareness reflect an important role in raising awareness about the potential risks of protecting privacy. The study highlighted that users who have greater knowledge of digital media literacy are more careful in applying digital security practices. The study recommends the need to intensify educational and awareness efforts on the importance of protecting personal data through digital media, and to enhance educational curricula with materials concerned with digital media literacy, to increase awareness among the emerging generations, and to provide specialized training programs and workshops on how to protect personal data in the digital environment.
