The Impact of Using Plickers Tool within the Response to Intervention (RTI) Framework on Developing Repeated Addition Skills among Primary School Students

Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate the effect of using Plickers tool within the framework of Response to Intervention (RTI) in developing repeated addition skills among elementary school students. The study adopted a single-case design methodology by applying the intervention to two cases (Student A and Student B) to analyze changes in academic performance across baseline, intervention, and post-intervention phases.

The study instruments included the use of Plickers as a digital formative assessment tool that provides immediate feedback, in addition to implementing gradual instructional interventions based on the (RTI) framework. Data were analyzed using visual analysis techniques, including performance level, trend analysis, data stability, phase change analysis, and measurement of academic improvement.

The findings revealed a significant improvement in students' academic performance after implementing the intervention. Student A's performance increased from 25% during the baseline phase to 50% during the intervention phase and reached 100% during the post-intervention phase, with a total improvement rate of 75%. Similarly, Student B's performance improved from 75% during the baseline phase to 100% during the post-intervention phase, with an overall improvement of 25%.

The results demonstrated the effectiveness of using Plickers within the (RTI) framework in improving repeated addition skills, enhancing classroom interaction, and providing immediate data-driven feedback, which contributed to achieving academic mastery among students. The study recommended integrating interactive digital formative assessment tools into educational environments and promoting data-driven instructional interventions to support students with mathematics learning difficulties.
