Approaches to the Inimitability of the Qur'an

Abstract

The inimitability of the Qur'an is one of the most prominent issues that has occupied Islamic thought, both in the past and present. It represents the ultimate proof of the Qur'an's divine origin and its uniqueness from all other human speech. With the development of sciences and knowledge in the modern era, new approaches to the subject of inimitability have emerged, moving beyond the focus of earlier scholars on rhetorical and linguistic inimitability to broader fields such as linguistic, scientific, legislative, and psychological inimitability. Therefore, this article aims to identify the most important modern approaches to the inimitability of the Qur'an and analyze them critically, revealing their epistemological foundations, methodological limitations, and scientific value.
